Employment prospects in 2008 highest for 14 years
In an article from Milkround.com's Mike Barnard, Graduates can look forward to a bumper year for getting a job in 2008.
Citing the 17th annual UPS Europe Business Monitor, well over a third of UK
business leaders say they plan to increase their workforce over the next 12
months. The 38 percent who said they do is the highest figure since the first
business monitor in 1993, and two percent up on last year's results.Another 46 percent plan to keep their workforce about the same, adding up to
84 percent of senior UK executives predicting stable or growing employment next
year.
This is very promising news for TheCareerMole.com graduates who may have been feeling a little anxious in light of the recent turbulence in the economic climate.
Jim Barber, MD of UPS UK and Ireland, comments "UK businesses seem to be open to the opportunities presented by world trade, overwhelmingly seeing globalisation
as a benefit to their business and bucking the European trend of identifying
global competition as the biggest challenge to business growth."
Encouraging news on the employment outlook in 2008.
